Houston International Jazz Festival - Houston, TX
The festival events are held in three locations. The Red Cat Jazz Cafe hosts the opening reception, Discovery Green invites the whole family to outdoor concerts where they can enjoy hours of music, great foods and shop in the arts and crafts booths and the Worthham Theater Center is the site for the Kroger Mayor's Scholarship Jazz Brunch featuring Jazz Educations's Summer Jazz Workshop All-Stars.

Bluegrass Festival and Jam - Paris, TX
Bands scheduled to perform include Hickory Hill, Salt Grass, High Strung and The Mack Smith Band. Also, Wildwood Valley Boys, Bonham Review, Bowls Creek, The Welch Mountain Boys and Blue River, accompanied by Amy Asbill Patrick. The hot weather during the 2008 festival prompted the SSRDA to construct a 4,800-square-foot shade in front of the stage. There will be food and drinks, but no alcohol will be allowed.

A Fun-Run~Run for Scouting. There are cook-offs for Chili, Beans, Bar-B-Q and Bloody Marys. An Arts, Crafts, antiques and collectibles show. Go-Texan Events, Horseshoe pitching, cow chip & egg toss. Tricycle races and a kiddie parade.
