Radio Free Texas Rowdy Float Trip

Full lineup of over 20 acoustic acts as well as 10 full band acts on two stages including Pauline Reese, Forest Wayne Allen, Lost Immigrants, Slow Rollin' Lows, Josh Langston, Rodney Parker & 50 Peso Reward, Josh Grider Trio, County Road Zero, and JB & The Moonshine Band.

$75-$90 per person includes camping and event tickets. Event only day passes also available on the website. BYOB.

8/12/10 Austin, TX

Premios Texas

Featuring bands and artists from around the world, as well as local bands, such as Vallejo. The musicians represent various Latin music genres, including pop, tropical, regional Mexican, rock and urban. The award winners are chosen by Texas voters. A free pre-event concert on Aug. 12 is expected to draw about 5,000 people.

Gillespie County Fair

Features a downtown parade on Main Street (Friday), pari-mutuel horse races (Saturday-Sunday), and live entertainment (Friday and Saturday). Other activities include livestock show, 4-H and FFA exhibits, crafts show and sale, and the Gillespie County Fair Queen Contest. Plenty of good food and refreshments.

Wildflower Planting Days

Focusing on teaching our visitors how to plant the wildflower seeds for best results in the spring blooming season, and is a reminder to all that planting needs to happen in the fall to see wildflowers bloom in the springtime! Demonstrations and lectures will be scheduled each day.

9/17-9/19/2010 Bartlett, TX Bartlett's Old Town Festival

Bartlett comes to life in September with its Old Town Festival there are activities for all ages. When the schedule permits the Bartlett Bulldogs have a home game on Friday night and B-B-Q cookers begin setting up for the CTBA sanctioned competition. On Saturday the fun begins with a 5k run/walk followed by a parade featuring bands, horses, floats, bicycles, motorcycles, farm equipment, 4x4s, antique cars, clowns and more.

After the parade Bartlett has shopping in its historic downtown along with music, games, contests, raffles, food, car shows and many vendors with all types of arts, crafts, and collectibles. The Bartlett Museum is open along with the Bartlett Activities Center. Many family and class reunions take place during the Old Town Festival so you never know who might appear from your past. The day winds down with a street dance featuring diverse quality artists. For those around on Sunday, Bartletts churches have their normal scheduled services. Come join in the September fun you will be glad you did.

Monarch Celebration

In conjunction with the University of Kansas program "Monarch Watch", we will be tagging Monarch butterflies and releasing them to begin their migration journey. The tags allow the migration patterns to be tracked and recorded, and our visitors can not only learn about the process, but help with the tagging!

An old fashioned county fair with a carnival, midway, bull riding, chili cook-off, talent contest, dance, live entertainment and more.
